Rinku Singh, known for his fearless batting in the middle order in IPL and in India's blue T20 jersey, turned heads with the ball in the UP T20 2025 opener as he showcased a new dimension to his game. 

Bowling a surprise spell for Meerut Mavericks against Kanpur Superstars, Rinku struck early in the powerplay and displayed glimpses of an all-rounder in the making, something that could boost his chances for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

The Mavericks’ skipper brought himself into the attack with Kanpur struggling to settle during their chase. Rinku, opting for a leg-break approach, bowled over the wicket and delivered a clever spinning ball that outfoxed Adarsh Singh. 

The delivery gripped just enough, beating Adarsh’s defense and rattling the stumps. What followed was a passionate celebration, Rinku roared in delight, with pure aggression as teammates rushed to congratulate him. Rinku's Mavericks Bag Easy Win

Rinku finished with tidy figures, conceding just 18 runs in his two overs while picking up the prized wicket of Adarsh. His controlled spell in the powerplay restricted Kanpur’s scoring and tilted the momentum towards the Mavericks early on. The game itself was one-sided, with Meerut Mavericks piling up 225/2 thanks to Madhav Kaushik’s blazing 95 off 31 balls. 

In reply, Kanpur Superstars crumbled to 139/9, handing Mavericks a thumping 86-run win. But for fans and selectors alike, Rinku Singh’s spirited bowling cameo was the biggest talking point of the night.
