On Wednesday, April 30, Chennai Super Kings locked horns against Punjab Kings at the Chepauk Stadium. The fans turned up in thousands to watch their idol MS Dhoni play. The stadium erupted with a roar as MSD walked for the toss. During the coin flip, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and asked CSK to bat first.
As expected, Danny Morrison posed tough questions towards captain cool and as usual, asked him about his IPL future. Looking at the noise inside the Chepauk Stadium, Danny asked Dhoni whether the loud cheer hinted at the ongoing season being his last or would he return for another season.
MS Dhoni Drops Hint On His IPL Future
MSD, in his usual best, dodged the question and remarked that he is unsure of another season and also whether he would be back for the next match. "(Are you coming back next season?) I don't know if I'm coming for the next game (laughs)," remarked Dhoni. Dhoni's response draw a few laughters, but it got the fans excited and talking.

Cricket Pundits Urge MSD To Retire From IPL
In the past few days, several cricket pundits have asked MS Dhoni to retire from the game and not push his career post IPL 2025. In the latest events, Australia legend Adam Gilchrist too has joined the bandwagon and requested Dhoni to draw curtains on his illustrious career.
Speaking ahead of CSK’s crucial clash against Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Gilchrist told Cricbuzz: “MS Dhoni has nothing to prove to anyone in the game. Well, he will know what to do but, for the future, perhaps he does not need to be there next year. I love you MS, you are a champion and an icon.”
Talking about Dhoni's numbers in IPL 2025, then the CSK skipper has scored 140 runs in nine innings, averaging 28.
