Dewald Brevis smashed an unbeaten 125 in the second T20I against Australia and helped the Proteas level the series. Now, in the second T20I, he has started off with a bang, hitting a maximum on just his sixth ball of the innings.

Dewald Brevis Continues His Stellar Form In Decider

The right-handed batter walked out to bat at number 4 like he did in the last match. The pressure was on the Proteas with two wickets down in the Powerplay, but Brevis continued his great form, and after playing some ground shots, he decided to smash one out of the park against Ben Dwarshuis.

It was the fourth ball of the last over of the Powerplay, and the left-arm bowler started the over well with three dot balls. He decided to test Dewald Brevis with a short one on the fourth ball, but the South African youngster was ready.

He rocked back and nailed his hook shot to perfection. The ball hit the middle of his blade and went all the way over the square leg fence and out of the ground. In the previous match too, Brevis hit some humongous sixes and seems to be in the mood to destroy Australian bowlers again.

Brevis, Stubbs Stage SA Comeback After Early Breakthroughs

Earlier, Australia won the toss and decided to chase in the decider. Aiden Markram, the South African captain, departed in the very first over off the bowling of Josh Hazlewood and then a promising knock from young Lhuan-dre Pretorius was also cut short by Nathan Ellis.

Brevis walked in and looked in supreme touch, and even though the Proteas lost Rickelton soon, Tristan Stubbs is standing tall. Brevis and Stubbs had a century-plus stand in the last match, and the two youngsters would be looking to replicate that in this final T20I as well.
