Devdutt Padikkal Slams Century, Continues His Stellar VHT Run Ahead Of IPL 2024

The local boy from Karnataka, Devdut Padikkal has been playing an exceptional brand of cricket in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Due to his consistency, he has made room for himself in the 'India A' squad for the three four-day matches in South Africa.

In the first year of his IPL season when he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, he displayed great character, scoring 473 runs in 15 games. Then he was picked up by the Rajasthan Royals where he did not get many chances and he has already made his T20I debut in Sri Lanka under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan. 

Recently, DDP was traded to Lucknow Super Giants for the upcoming IPL 2024. He was a part of Rajasthan Royals and got traded in exchange for Avesh Khan, who will play for RR in the coming season. At LSG, Devdutt Padikkal will get enough opportunities, as they were looking for a middle-order batter, which is a perfect stage for him to bat.


DDP making noise in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023

Padikkal's recent performances during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 have been nothing short of extraordinary and he will look to continue with the same momentum in the rest of the tournament.

In the game against Chandigarh, Devdutt Padikkal notched up his second hundred of the tournament scoring 114 off 103 deliveries and helped Karnataka win the game by 22 runs as Chandigarh failed to chase down the total of 299 runs. 

Currently, he is the top score of the tournament as he has scored 465 runs in just five games including two centuries and three half-centuries. In each of the five games, he has scored 70 runs at least and that too with a blistering strike-rate. If he keeps on playing like this and performs well in South Africa, he will be soon seen in Indian colours.
