St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons put up a tense last-over thriller in match number 11 of the CPL 2024 season on September 8. At the end of nearly 40 overs of action at the Warner Park, it was the Falcons group that emerged victorious with a two-wicket margin.

Here’s the timeline of how SKN vs ABF panned out in St Kitts:

SKN vs ABF Highlights: Patriots lose Top Three In A Torrid Powerplay Start

The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots lost each of their top three batters inside the opening powerplay to Mohammad Amir and Kofi James. While Amir dismissed Patriots captain Andre Fletcher and his opening partner Evin Lewis in quick succession, number three batter Kyle Mayers was caught plumb in front of the stumps by James in the sixth over of the match.

At the end of the first six overs, the Patriots reached a sluggish 36-3 with Rilee Rossouw forming forces with Wanindu Hasaranga at the crease.

Wanindu Hasaranga (23 off 14) and Rilee Rossouw (20 off 26) carved handy 20s in the middle overs before both were dismissed by Antigua & Barbuda Falcons spinner Fabian Allen.

Batting at number six, Mikyle Louis led the rescue act for the Patriots by clobbering 63 vital runs from just 36 deliveries with two boundaries and seven sweltering sixes. Mikyle’s top-scoring knock helped the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots set up a competitive total of 153-8 from 20 overs. Falcons’ spinner Imad Wasim limited the damage to some extent by picking up two wickets off the final two balls of the innings.

Kofi James at number three also belted a handy 20 from just 16 balls after the departure of Brandon King courtesy of a clean-up job from Anrich Nortje.

After Falcons reached 80-1 in seven overs, Wanindu Hasaranga scripted a remarkable fightback for the Patriots by picking up four wickets in a four-over spell that yielded just 16 runs. In no time, the Falcons slipped to 110-7 in 15.1 overs to find themselves another 44 runs away from victory.
