Antigua & Barbuda Falcons fast bowler Mohammad Amir struck early for his team in match number 11 of the CPL 2024 season on September 8. Sharing the new-ball with captain Chris Green, Amir deceived St Kitts & Nevis Patriots skipper and opening batter Andre Fletcher with a slower delivery that clocked just 121.7ks on the speedometer.
Fletcher’s dismissal courtesy of Amir helped the Falcons seize early advantage in their must-win game at the Warner Park in St Kitts.

After bowling a tight opening over of the match to Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher, Mohammad Amir deceived the latter in the second over of his spell with a slower delivery. As Fletcher was trying to drag Amir on to his leg side, he merely ended up ballooning a leading edge towards Brandon King at first slip.
Fletcher’s exit coincided with the early introduction of Kyle Mayers into the crease as the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots slipped to 13-1 in 2.5 overs.
Notably, Mohammad Amir also removed Andre Fletcher’s opening partner Evin Lewis a couple of overs later in the innings to further worsen Patriots troubles at 36-2. At the end of his opening spell, Amir had sealed figures of 3-20 from his three overs.
Earlier in the match, Amir’s Antigua & Barbuda Falcons captain Chris Green had won the toss and opted to field first. The match against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots marks a must-win one for them in a bid to climb higher on the CPL 2024 points table.
The Falcons playing group started off their CPL 2024 campaign with four successive defeats, before stunning Trinbago Knight Riders by six runs on September 5.
