Chetan Sakariya for KKR in IPL 2025 (Source: @GaneshVerse/X.com)
Chetan Sakariya, the left-arm pacer from Saurashtra is back in the IPL after missing the previous season, and has made his KKR debut now against Punjab Kings. He was the net bowler for the franchise, but then came in as a replacement of injured Umran Malik. His services have been bought for 75 Lakhs by the three-time champions, KKR.
Chetan Sakariya Returns After Long Injury Layoff
Chetan Sakariya has played for Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals in the past, and impressed one and all in his inaugural edition in 2021. He made an impression both with the new and old ball in that game, and has overall 20 wickets in as many games of IPL. He even played for India in the same year, but injuries have haunted his progress, and has played only a solitary game for the country.
KKR would be hoping that he comes up with an impressive performance in his comeback game, and help the franchise take revenge of their loss in Mullanpur against Punjab Kings on April 15.
KKR Eye Revenge Against Punjab Kings
Chetan Sakariya has also made an impression across formats in domestic cricket for Saurashtra. He has 65 T20 wickets, but before this game against Punjab Kings, he last played a T20 game in 2023.
Overall, the game is quite crucial for KKR and PBKS. The former is at the seventh position with eight points, and one more loss could put them in a difficult position. Punjab Kings are better placed, with 10 points in their kitty, and would be hoping to get another win in their belt to break into the top four again.
