The much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash is set to begin as the home side, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on the Punjab Kings in a riveting battle at the Eden Gardens. Shreyas Iyer will return to his previous IPL franchise as the PBKS captained helped the Knight Riders win the tournament last season.

Both the sides are at an interesting stage in the points table. While Punjab Kings are fighting for the playoffs and are at the fifth position, KKR are stranded at 7th and another loss could leave them out of the qualification race for the playoffs.

Ahead of the monumental clash, we look at what transpired at the toss and are there any changes in the playing XI from the last game.

KKR Vs PBKS: Who won the toss today

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and he had no hesitation in electing to bat first on a surface which could get tricky as the match progresses. Plus, Punjab have done well batting first this season and this could be a decisive decision in the context of the game.

Glenn Maxwell returns to the playing XI and Azmatullah Omarzai will also play his first game for the Kings.

For KKR, captain Ajinkya Rahane decided to bring in more West Indian flair as Rovman Powell is set to make his KKR debut and will replace Moeen Ali. Chetan Sakariya comes in for Ramandeep Singh and the pacer will also make his KKR debut tonight.
