While chasing down the 237-run target, the Mohammedan side lost a few consecutive wickets but later on steadied their innings, depending on Rony Talukdar, captain Towhid Hridoy, and Mahmudullah Riad’s impactful innings. The drama soared on high as Mohammedan needed 12 runs in the final over.
Being on the crease, Nasum and Saif Uddin showcased their brilliance under pressure. Their perfect partnership powered Mohammedan Sporting Club to a 4-wicket victory. Nasum remained unbeaten on 21 runs in 13 balls, and Saif Uddin remained unbeaten on 30 runs in 55 balls.
Mohammedan Chase Their Maiden DPL Title
Since the Dhaka Premier League was introduced to Bangladesh cricket in the 2009-10 season, the Mohammedan Sporting Club is still waiting for its maiden trophy. After having a spectacular season, their last win over the Gazipur Group Cricketers, they climbed up to the second position of the points table.
With 24 points, Mohammedan sit comfortably in second place, while Abahani Limited leads the points table with 26 points. As the final match is set to take place on April 29, both teams will try hard to secure the prestigious title.
