Sylhet Strikers beat Dhaka Capitals by three wickets in the 16th match of the BPL 2024-25 season. After being asked to chase 194 runs, Zakir Hasan set the tone with a half-century before the lower and middle order capitalised on the momentum to seal a convincing 3-wicket victory.

Dhaka Capitals opted to bat first and received a huge blow in opener Tanzid Hasan. He was dismissed early on, 6 off 4 balls, before Litton Das and Munim Shahriar produced an extraordinary partnership. Litton was headstrong as he used his experience to put a gritty knock of 73 off 43 balls. Munim, meanwhile, played the anchor’s role with a notable 52 off 47 balls. The duo’s 129-run partnership rebuilt the Capitals innings after the early setback.

Dhaka Capitals’ middle order capitalised on the momentum set by Litton Das and Munim Shahriar. Despite the early setbacks, Zakir Hasan stabilised Sylhet Strikers’ inning with a crucial 58 off 27 balls. Rony Talukdar added 30 off 20 balls before Jaker Ali also swung his bat to club 24 off 17 balls. Ariful Haque added the finishing touch of 28 off 15 balls to steer Sylhet Strikers to a convincing victory of three wickets. The team chased down a total of 194 with eight balls to spare.
