In a significant development in Indian cricket, Mumbai's star batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been rushed to hospital following a nasty on-field injury during Mumbai vs Uttarakhand Vijay Hazare Trophy in Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
According to several reports, the KKR star attempted a tough catch and in the process hurt his shoulder and head.
Raghuvanshi risks it all on the field
A sportstar report added that Angkrish Raghuvanshi was quickly stretchered off the field and has been admitted to SDMH hospital in Jaipur for CT scans. It was nasty scenes in Jaipur as the star batter was in immense pain before the physios put him on stretcher and rushed him to the hospital.
At present, he is undergoing scans and as things stand, the right-handed batter's injury looks serious and can be out for a long period, therefore putting KKR management in panic as Raghuvanshi is one of the key figures in Knight Riders' squad for IPL 2026.
Big blow to KKR's plans
Kolkata Knight Riders had a terrible IPL 2025 where the three-time winners finished 8th on the table. Amid a disappointing season, Raghuvanshi was the only positive for the Men in Purple and Gold as the right-handed batter amassed 300 runs in 11 innings, averaging 33.33.
Therefore for IPL 2026, KKR released most of their squads but retained Angkrish as the 20-year-old was touted as one of the key figures going forward. For the upcoming edition, Raghuvanshi is touted to open the innings or take charge in the middle-order for KKR.
Thus, if the injury rules him out of the tournament or in case the youngster misses a few games, then it will be a big blow to Knight Riders' plans.
