According to emerging reports, the BCCI will likely announce India's squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand in the first week of January. India recently had a memorable time in the white-ball series against South Africa, swatting aside the visitors in both ODIs and T20Is. Up next, the Men in Blue will face New Zealand in three ODIs and five T20Is in a highly anticipated tour starting on January 11.
Notably, the BCCI has already announced India's T20I squad for the New Zealand series, and the same set of players have also been picked for the T20 World Cup next year. As the Men in Blue prepare for the three-match ODI series, a report has emerged, revealing the exact date when the BCCI will name the Indian squad for the same.

After crushing South Africa comfortably, team India is gearing up to face New Zealand in their backyard. While New Zealand have already announced a second string team, comprising several lesser-known players for the ODIs, a report has claimed that the BCCI could reveal India's squad for the series on either January 3 or 4.
India's several ODI players, including the legendary duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, are currently featuring in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. As the Indian players get ready for the highly anticipated three-match series, renowned Times of India (TOI) journalist Gaurav Gupta has revealed that the BCCI might announce the squad through an online meeting on either January 3 or 4.
Focus on Gill's comeback; Kohli, Rohit, Ishan in red-hot form before NZ ODIs
In a dramatic turn of events, India's Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill was dropped from the T20 World Cup after failing to make his chances count in the Asia Cup as well as the bilateral series against Australia and South Africa.
So, as the BCCI is about to reveal India's squad for the New Zealand ODIs, it will be interesting to see if Gill makes his ODI comeback after recovering from a neck injury.
