In a one-sided affair, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) met with a 21-run defeat as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cut their four-match losing streak in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

After opting to bowl first in their home venue, RCB got bulldozed by the likes of Jason Roy, Nitish Rana,Rinku Singh and David Wiese as the quartet combined to set a 200-run total.

Had RCB achieved the target, it would have only been their second successful chase of 200 runs or more. But it could not be made possible as barring skipper Virat Kohli, who scored a fifty, and Mahipal Lomror to an extent, no one ran their magic.

After this loss, RCB lie at fifth position on the points table and will now be seen in action on May 1 against Lucknow Super Giants. While KKR moved to seventh spot and their next match is scheduled versus Gujarat Titans on April 29.
