In the electric 13th match of BBL 14 between Adelaide Strikers and the Hobart Hurricanes, the latter put up a massive 214 runs on the board after being sent to bat first. Notably, it was the highest total put up by any team so far in BBL 14. The Strikers, in response, tried their best to counter the 'Cane Train' but failed in the chase booking their third loss of the tournament.

Ben McDermott for Hurricanes was unstoppable as the wicketkeeper batter played a whirlwind knock to rack up his 16th BBL half-century. Coming in to bat after Caleb Jewell when the team was reeling at 64-2 at the end of 6.2 overs, Ben picked up the innings and played an unbeatable 68 off 34 to boost the Hurricanes.

Ben's inning was laced with 5 sixes and 3 boundaries as he hit the Strikers bowlers while looking confident at the crease.

Just when the Hurricanes thought Ben's firepower was enough to put up a decent total, Tim David came in when the team was left at 124-4. He partnered for 54 runs off 23 balls with Ben to rack up a quickfire 33 off 14 balls. 

David put Henry Thornton of Strikers under pressure as he aggressively pedalled the gas, hitting four consecutive boundaries off him. In addition to those four boundaries, David also launched two balls in the sky for sixes before being dismissed by Liam Scott in the 18th over.

In response to the Hurricanes, the Strikers didn't hold back to hit the pedal either. Opener Matthew Short racked up a quickfire 52 off 29 to charge up the Strikers' innings. Short built his innings on 4 sixes and 3 boundaries and was dismissed in the 12th over by Waqar Salamkheil. 

It is worth mentioning that D'Arcy Short paired up with Matthew to obliterate the Hurricanes bowler with his whopping 41 off just 22 balls.

Strikers were looking fierce after Ollie Pope fired his guns in the middle overs. However, Chris Jordan scalped him during the crucial 18th over breaking the spirit of the Strikers. Notably, Jordan also scalped Alex Ross in the middle halting the momentum of the Strikers' chase, which was later picked up by Jamie Overton.

Overton, who gave his best to salvage the chase despite a high required run rate, failed to guide the Strikers home as Riley Meredith sealed the win for Hurricanes restricting the Strikers to 203 in the last over.
