Hobart Hurricanes' big-hitter Tim David set the Adelaide Oval alight in Match 13 of the BBL 2024-25, giving the Adelaide Strikers' bowlers a torrid time. With his explosive batting, David turned the 15th over into a highlight reel, smashing Henry Thornton all around the park with a flurry of boundaries that had the crowd on its feet.

Tim David Wreaks Havoc in BBL With Four Consecutive Boundaries

Tim David walked to the crease with the Hurricanes already in a strong position. Batting on 1 off 2 balls in the 15th over, David decided it was time to put his foot on the gas. Thornton bowled a wide yorker, and David opened the face of his bat to steer it past backward point for a boundary. It was the calm before the storm.

On the very next ball, David showed no mercy. Thornton went full and wide again, and David unleashed his power, smoking the ball through the covers for another four. The Adelaide Oval crowd knew they were witnessing something special, and the noise levels started climbing.

Thornton tried to mix it up with a short one, but David was a step ahead. He sat back and absolutely clobbered the ball over deep square leg for a massive six. The ball sailed into the stands, and the Hobart Hurricanes dugout was on its feet.

Thornton’s nightmare continued. After bowling a wide delivery, he served up another full and wide one. This time, David cleared his front leg and slapped it over extra cover for yet another boundary. Four balls, four boundaries, it was batting carnage from RCB’s latest recruit, who showed the fans what was in store for IPL 2025.

Tim David’s Knock Injects Momentum In Hurricanes’ Innings

However, David’s fireworks didn’t last long, as Liam Scott managed to bowl him out after a quickfire 33 off just 14 balls. But he had already done the damage, giving the Hurricanes the momentum they needed.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing this article, Hobart Hurricanes are cruising at 191/5 after 18 overs, with Ben McDermott anchoring the innings on 63 and Chris Jordan just settling in. The duo is looking to push the total past 220 and give their bowlers a big cushion to defend.
