The Big Bash League (BBL) has long been a melting pot of international talent, and one delivery this week captured that global flavor perfectly. In match number 15 of the BBL 2025-26 season, Bangladesh-based Hobart Hurricanes spinner Rishad Hossain and Melbourne Renegades’ Pakistan import Mohammad Rizwan, with the added assistance of England’s Rehan Ahmed came together in a moment that spanned three cricketing nations.
The moment in contention occurred during the seventh over of the Renegades innings, when Hurricanes’ Rishad Hossain trapped Rizwan courtesy of a sharp catch from Ahmed at backward point.

Struggling Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan once again failed to go big for the Melbourne Renegades in BBL 2025-26 season, this time getting dismissed for just 16 from 12 balls with three boundaries against Hobart Hurricanes at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
Attempting a reverse sweep off Hurricanes’ Bangladesh-based spinner Rishad Hossain, the senior right-handed batter merely ended up finding young England bowling all-rounder Rehan Ahmed at backward point.

Rishad Hossain also dismissed Jake Fraser-McGurk later in the innings to claim 2-34 to restrict Melbourne Renegades to 162-9 in 20 overs. For the Hobart Hurricanes, fast bowler Nathan Ellis unfurled the spell of the innings with figures of 3-30, claiming the wickets of Josh Brown and Renegades captain Will Sutherland in his four-over spell. Chris Jordan, Riley Meredith and Mitchell Owen also chipped in with a wicket each.
Chasing 163, Hobart Hurricanes notched up a thrilling four-wicket win with an over to spare. Blistering wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade struck an enterprising 20-ball 43*, while England’s Rehan Ahmed bludgeoned 23 from 14 balls with three fours and a huge six.
