While Melbourne Stars dominated as Sydney Thunder batted first, a heart-stopping moment stole the spotlight. While chasing down a ball, Haris Rauf and Hilton Cartwright avoided a brutal collision, leaving the world shocked.

After the Big Bash League has returned with yet another thrilling season and Sunday becomes more interesting with the exciting clash between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder. As the Thunder batted first, the Stars bowlers rolled up their sleeves and dominated the opponent.

In front of their fury, the Thunder’s batting lineup faltered. Amidst those thrilling T20 actions, a heart stopping moment grabbed the attention as Haris Rauf and Hilton Cartwright escaped a major injury scare on the field. The monument took place in the last over of the first innings when Reece Topley was on strike and Tom Curran came to bowl.

In the fourth delivery of the over, Curran bowled a short ball and Topley cut it off. Rauf charged in from backward point as Cartwright sprinted from deep, but quick thinking saved the day when Cartwright smartly pulled away from the Pakistani pacer.

With that, they avoided a near-fatal collision and the ball ended up landing in between both players. The heart-stopping moment left players and fans holding their breath inside the stadium. In that moment, Topley collected crucial two runs for the team.

Melbourne Stars pile on the pressure with ruthless bowling

Bowling first, the Melbourne Stars came out breathing fire as Sydney Thunder’s batters felt the heat from ball one. After Sam Konstas and Matthew Gilkes stitched a 33-run opening partnership, Swepson and Haris Rauf removed them in quick succession.

The woes kept going hard as Rauf led the way with a commendable spell of 3/29. Keeping the pressure intact, the other bowlers tightened their grips as captain Marcus Stoinis, and Tom Curran secured two wickets each. With those exceptional bowling performances, they restricted the Thunder just in 128 runs.
