On Tuesday, November 18, Pakistan locked horns against Zimbabwe in the first match of the tri-series involving Sri Lanka.  The two teams squared off at the Rawalpindi Stadium, and the fans turned up to see their favourite stars in action, particularly Babar Azam.

Babar Azam recently returned to form in the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka, where the right-handed batter slammed a century after 83 innings. The fans went wild as they waited for more than two years to see their idol register a triple-figure score.

However, the excitement was short-lived as the 31-year-old scored a duck in the ongoing match against Zimbabwe. Babar, who boasts a great record against Zimbabwe, failed to open his account and returned to the pavilion after a three-ball duck. In the fifth over of the match, Brad Evans trapped Pakistan's talisman in front of the wicket, and the umpire quickly raised his finger.

Third duck in six innings for Babar Azam

While Babar may have found his mojo back in the fifty-over format, his T20I game is still under the scanner as the 31-year-old registered his third duck in his last six T20I innings. Notably, Babar was kept out of the scheme of things till the end of the Asia Cup, but has failed to make the most of the new opportunity given to him, as he scored a duck in the T20I since his return.

Since the Asia Cup 2025, Babar has only scored 79 runs in four innings. Further, in his last four innings against Zimbabwe, the right-handed batter has scored just six runs, which features two ducks.

Talking about the ongoing match, Pakistan are in deep trouble as the Men in Green are reduced to 34/3 after 6.3 overs while chasing 148 runs.
