To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, the highly anticipated Big Bash League is all set to commence on Sunday, with Sydney Sixers taking on Perth Scorchers in the opening encounter of the tournament. The mega clash will take place at the Perth Stadium and kick off at 1.45 PM IST.

Babar Azam is one of the most successful batters in the T20 history, having amassed 11536 runs at an average of 42.88. He is only 464 runs away from entering the legendary 12000-run club. So, if Babar manages to score this many runs in the upcoming BBL season, he will become the tenth batter to complete 12000 runs in T20s. 

100 fifties in T20 cricket

Babar Azam has been a consistent performer with the bat in T20 cricket. Besides eleven centuries, the Pakistan ace has 95 fifties under his belt. So, if he slams five half-centuries in the Big Bash League 2025-26, Babar will become the third batter after David Warner and Virat Kohli to register 100 T20 fifties. 

Most sixes in T20s: Babar could go past Dhawan and Shakib

Babar Azam has hammered 218 sixes in T20 cricket. If he hits five sixes in the upcoming BBL season, the Pakistan batter will go past legendary Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan on the list. On the other hand, if he hits eleven sixes, Babar will break Shikhar Dhawan's tally of 228 T20 sixes.
