Babar Azam Fails To Recreate Rohit Sharma's Pull Shot; Embarrassingly Gets Out In Champions Cup

Pakistan's prominent batter Babar Azam had a disastrous game with the bat as Mohammad Hasnain got his crucial wicket in the ongoing Champions Cup encounter between the Stallions and the Panthers in Faisalabad. The talismanic batter mistimed a pull shot, hitting it straight to the fielder and getting out cheaply in the all-important face-off.

The incident occurred during the seventh over of the Stallions' innings when Babar Azam was trying to form an impactful partnership following Shan Masood's dismissal. Saim Ayub's decision to bring Hasnain for his fourth over did the trick for the Panthers, with the right-arm pacer getting rid of Babar with his razor-sharp bowling.

From over the wicket, Hasnain bowled a short ball, inviting Babar Azam to play a pull shot. The star batter fell into his trap, hitting the ball straight to the short mid-wicket. He generally deposits the short balls into the stands. However, this time, the right-handed batter holed it out to Rizwan Mehmood, who grabbed a simple catch to send him packing.

Babar Azam's Failure Leaves Stallions In Tatters

Chasing a mammoth 345-run target, the Stallions had a disastrous start to their innings, losing skipper Mohammad Haris for 19 runs. After Shan Masood departed cheaply, Babar Azam was expected to capitalise on his red-hot batting form and bail his side out of trouble. However, Hasnain's short ball ploy got the better of him, sending shockwaves in the Stallions camp.

After Babar's dismissal, Tayyab Tahir joined Hussain Talat in the middle to steady the ship for the Stallions. As of writing, Babar Azam's men were tottering at 59 for three, with Talat and Tahir batting on 10* and 13*, respectively.
