Babar Azam was criticised from all corners of Pakistan, but the champion batter responded in style and silenced his critics with a sizzling century in the ongoing Champions Cup match between the Stallions and the Dolphins.

The Stallions batter remained unbeaten at 104 off 100 deliveries as his team scored 271/7 in the allotted 50 overs. Coming into this tournament, Babar Azam was under tremendous pressure as he had string of low-scores against the Bangladesh side.

Babar hits back at critics with breath-taking ton

However, the former Test skipper looked at his imperial best and slammed a brilliant ton, which included 7 fours and 3 brilliant sixes.

When Babar came to the crease, the Stallions were in a decent position, with the scoring rate nearing 6 runs per over. However, in the next few overs, Babar's team lost wickets at regular intervals and it affected his scoring-rate as well.

For a brief moment, Babar slowed down and was also criticised by his former skipper and opposition player, Sarfaraz Ahmed. However, the talented batter kept all the negativity aside and increased the scoring-rate with a couple of lovely sixes in the second-last over.

On the second last delivery of the final over, Babar smacked a brilliant boundary and completed a terrific century to return back to form.

Babar’s innings takes Stallions to 271

Stallions are a strong side and they were off to a solid start, courtesy of Shan Masood and Yasir Khan. The duo added 76 runs for the first wicket, and at one stage, the team was going strong with Babar and Tayyab Tahir batting.

However, once Tahir departed, Babar fell short of partners as the Dolphins ran-riot and picked up a couple of quick wickets. From 150/2 to 230 for 7, the Stallions lost 5-wickets in quick succession.

But King Babar, as they call him, produced a magical innings and took his side to a respectable total.
