Quinton de Kock Left Clueless As RCB Ace Alzarri Joseph Rips Through His Defence With A Snorter
Quinton de Kock was cleaned up by Joseph [X]
Experienced batter Quinton de Kock had a forgettable outing with the bat as West Indies' pace spearhead Alzarri Joseph cleaned him up with a corker in the ongoing CPL 2024 match between Barbados Royals and St Lucia Kings at Providence Stadium in Guyana. Opening the innings for the Royals, De Kock managed only two runs before Joseph breached his defence to leave him stunned.
The incident occurred during the second over of Barbados Royals' innings after their captain Rovman Powell decided to bat on Guyana's challenging surface. His decision backfired on his side, with Joseph jolting them with the massive wicket of Quinton De Kock in his very first over.
In an unorthodox ploy, the right-arm pacer instantly switched to around the wicket for De Kock. His plan worked wonders for his side, helping them dismiss De Kock, who is in sublime form in the CPL this season.
From around the stumps, Joseph bowled a good-length delivery, which jagged back into De Kock after pitching around the fourth stump. As the southpaw went for an expansive drive, the ball sneaked through his bat and pad gap to shatter the off stump.
Alzarri Joseph's Fiery Spell Sends Shockwaves In The Royals Camp
After dismissing De Kock, Alzarri Joseph got rid of Rahkeem Cornwall and skipper Rovman Powell to wreak havoc in the Royals camp. His clinical spell triggered Barbados' batting collapse, leaving them reeling at 20 for four in just 3.1 overs.
After Powell's departure, the experienced Jason Holder joined Alick Athanaze in the middle. At the time of writing, Barbados Royals were tottering at 35 for four in 7.1 overs, with Holder and Athanaze batting on 8* and 10*, respectively.
