Ayush Badoni has emerged as one of the most consistent batters from Delhi in the last few years. He has scored runs across formats and has been a reliable batter for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL as well.

However, there is hardly any talk of his selection in the Indian team at the international level. However, he has now made a big statement with an unbeaten 204 for North Zone in the Duleep Trophy encounter against East Zone.

Badoni Impresses With Marathon Knock In Duleep Trophy

Ayush Badoni scored a quickfire 63 from 60 balls in the first innings of the game and then came out with aggressive intent in the second outing as well. Badoni walked out at number 4 after the North Zone lost their second wicket at a score of 294. They were way ahead of the game, and the match was heading towards the draw, but Ayush Badoni made sure that he grabbed the opportunity to score runs with both hands.

The young right-handed batter displayed fluency right from the start and got boundaries at regular intervals. He got good support from North Zone captain Ankit Kumar initially, who missed out on his double century by just two runs.

North Zone Zone Qualify For Semis Of Duleep Trophy 2025

The likes of Mohammed Shami and Manishi both went wicketless as Badoni continued his onslaught even after the loss of his captain. He hit 13 fours and three sixes in his innings of 204 taking the team's score to 658. The match eventually ended in a draw, but the North Zone have managed to qualify for the semifinal because of the first innings.

North Zone will now face off against South Zone on September 4, and Ayush Badoni will be hoping to continue his good form in that big encounter too.
