Not in the wildest of dreams anyone expected Pakistan bowlers to run riot against the home team, Australia in the 3-match ODI series. Despite Australia winning the first ODI in a close-fought battle, Pakistan were always the better team, and they proved it in the next two matches.
Their bowling, led by Haris Rauf showcased class as the Australian batters had no answer against them. In the first ODI, Australia needed a mere 204 runs to win, but the visitors made a match out of it and almost snatched the victory, however, Pat Cummins kept his calm and stole the win from the Pakistan camp.
The real carnage began from the second ODI when a Haris Rauf led attack dismantled Pakistan for a mere 163, and they chased it down with utmost ease. Rauf ended with figures of 5 for 29. The brilliance of Pakistan continued in the ongoing third ODI as well.
Once again, Pakistan pacers were at their imperial best as they knocked over Australia for just 140. Thus, Australia created an unwanted record and for the first time in history, no Aussie player scored a fifty in an ODI series.
Australia on the verge of losing the ODI series
Australia won the first ODI narrowly, but they were always vulnerable against hostile pace bowling and were found out in the next two matches. Pakistan clinched the second ODI in a dominant manner and are on the verge of defeating the Aussies in the 3rd ODI as well.
After crushing England in the Test series, Pakistan'd ODI team has found a new life under Mohammad Rizwan as they are on the verge of creating history.
