Lizelle Lee was unstoppable! The Hobart Hurricanes Women’s opener put on a show, blasting an unbeaten 150 off just 75 balls and smashing the WBBL record for the highest score in style. Lee, who stepped away from international cricket, showed everyone she’s still got it, breaking Grace Harris's old record of 136* and taking her side to a big win over Perth Scorchers Women. This was Lee at her finest, making every bowler pay.

Lizelle Lee Smashed WBBL Record vs Scorchers

The Hurricanes Women had a shaky start, losing two wickets for just 16 runs. But Lizelle Lee didn’t flinch. She came out swinging, belting back-to-back sixes in the very next over, sending a clear message.

She hit her half-century in just 29 balls and was only warming up. Her partner, Elyse Villani, was more than happy to sit back and watch as Lee kept sending the ball into the stands. By the time she reached her century off 51 balls, Lee had broken all sorts of records. She smashed 12 sixes in total – a new record for most sixes in a women’s T20 game.

Scorchers’ Falter As Hurricanes Register Huge Win

Chasing 204 was always going to be a big ask, and Perth Scorchers Women struggled right from the start. Molly Strano struck on the first ball, removing Sophie Devine. Things went downhill fast as Chloe Piparo got run out for a duck, and then Dayalan Hemalatha fell soon after, leaving the Scorchers at 15/3.

Heather Graham kept them under control with key wickets, making sure Perth never really got a foothold. Chloe Ainsworth did hit a fighting 41 with some big hits late on, but it was too little, too late, as the Scorchers were bowled out for 131, handing the Hobart Hurricanes Women a massive 72-run win.

This was Lizelle Lee’s day, no doubt about it. Her powerhouse innings left fans in awe and her name in the record books. It was a knock to remember, and a big statement from one of the most feared hitters in the game.
