After the fiery conclusion at Perth, the second Ashes Test is headed for The Gabba, Brisbane. England and Australia are ready to lock their heads on December 4, 2025, as the action starts live from 9:30 AM IST.

Australia

Australia will once again play with a Cummins-less attack as Steve Smith leads the team. They will be a confident lot after their first win at Perth and will be ready to fire the shots at Gabba with Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland in the fray. The attack with the bat will be led by Travis Head, Jake Weatherald and Steve Smith as Australia eyes another win to go 2-0 up in the five-match series.

England

England will look to bounce back from the perils of defeat while trying to overcome their pink-ball woes at the Gabba under the lights. The Englishmen have a poor record in D/N Tests, but, under captain Ben Stokes, the team will be ready to hit back to level the series.

Mark Wood might not be in the lineup because of his injury and has only Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse alongside Gus Atkinson to add experience with the ball. The batting unit will be led by Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett and Harry Brook.

AUS vs ENG head-to-head overview in Tests

The Gabba Brisbane pitch report

The Gabba pitch for the second Ashes Test is expected to be a lively green top offering pace, bounce and plenty of lateral movement. Although some grass may be trimmed before play, the surface traditionally aids fast bowlers, and Australia will look to exploit it again. Overall, a bowling-friendly surface that will aid spinners from Day 3 onwards.
