In the 3rd T20I between Bangladesh and Ireland, Tanzid Hasan was one of the key architects behind the Tigers’ win. The 25-year-old was outstanding in the field, taking five catches that helped derail Ireland’s innings.

While strong fielding has become a necessary standard in international cricket, extraordinary feats like multiple catches by a single player remain rare. Hasan etched his name into an elite list with his brilliant effort, so let’s see where he ranks among the best.

5) Peter Borren - 4 catches vs Bangladesh

Peter Borren, a star all-rounder from the Netherlands, was a force to reckon with in both departments. However, his fielding efforts were also not something to be parted with. The 46 ODI wicket taker caught 4 catches against Bangladesh in 2012 at The Hague.

As Bangladesh came to bat first, Borin caught Tamim Iqbal, Zunaed Siddique, Mahmudullah, and Ziaur Rahman off the bowling of Van der Gugten, Ahsan Malik, and Gruijters. His exceptional catching performance helped Bangladesh get bowled out inside 128 runs in a 20-over game.

4) Daren Sammy - 4 catches vs Ireland

Daren Sammy, the star West Indies all-rounder who debuted in 2007, made his name on this list with a solid effort just three years after his debut.

Sammy took four catches against Ireland in 2010. As Ireland came in to chase West Indies’ 139 runs, Sammy’s athletic fielding saw William Porterfield, Paul Stirling, Alex Cusack, and Gary Wilson fall quickly, helping West Indies bundle out the visitors for just 68 runs.

3) Tanzid Hasan - 5 catches vs Ireland

Tanzid Hasan sets off as the next cricketer on this list with his five catches against Ireland in the 3rd T20I that took place on December 2, 2025.

Hasan showed solid prowess on the field to palm George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Mark Adair, Matthew Humphreys, and Ben White. All of them fell to the bowling of Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain, and Shoriful Islam, as the middle order crumbled like a house of cards, folding inside 20 overs with just 117 runs on the board.

2) Sedik Sahak - 5 catches vs Isle of Man

During Sweden’s tour of the Isle of Man in September 2025, Sedik Sahak, Sweden’s pace bowler, took five catches while also claiming a wicket to make his name on the list.

Sahak's efforts on the field removed the opener and key top-order batter, and the pace attack further dented the middle order and tail-enders to bundle the Isle of Man out for just 78 runs. Sweden chased the target inside 11 overs to secure a comfortable win.

1) Wedage Malinda - 5 catches vs Qatar

During the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Asia Qualifier A, Wedage Malinda from the Maldives made a lone effort on the field by dismissing Qatar's top-order batters through his catching efforts.

Qatar racked up a significant total on the board inside 20 overs as Malinda himself also bowled two overs, although he did not pick up a wicket. His contributions in the field proved crucial as Qatar’s top and middle order collapsed in regular intervals. However, Malinda's efforts were in vain as the Maldives lost the match by 42 runs.
