It was a day that would be largely written in women's cricket history as one of the finest ever knocks came from the bat of Davina Perrin. Playing for Northern Superchargers women in the The Hundred women's Eliminator 2025, Perrin smacked 101 off 43 deliveries.

Davina Perrin Shatter Records With Commanding Century

In what was anticipated to be a tense eliminator, it turned out to be a one-sided affair for the Northern Superchargers women, who raced through to the final of the tournament to face the Southern Brave women in the final of the ongoing The Hundred Women's 2025 competition.

Thanks to Davina Perrin's 101-run knock that came off just 43 deliveries; however, she was unfortunately run out, but not before smashing 15 boundaries and five maximums, as her strike rate of 234.88 demonstrates.

It is a moment that the 18-year-old Perrin will remember throughout her life, as she achieved the feat in 42 deliveries, the fastest ever in women's Hundred history. She has also been one of the most glittering stars in the Three Lionesses setup, with a national call-up awaited.

Perrin's knock saw the Superchargers post 214 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets, while the London Spirit women, despite their best efforts, could only get as far as 172 after their 100 deliveries, as the Superchargers won rather comfortably by 42 runs at the Oval.

This was interestingly the second century in the Hundred Women's Competition, as the first one was scored by Tammy Beaumont, who hit 118 against the Trent Rockets in the 2022 season.

Harry Brook's Record Stays Safe

Despite achieving the century in 42 deliveries, Perrin remained short of the landmark record, as the fastest-ever ton in the Hundred competition was struck by Harry Brook in 42 balls, which Perrin learned later and was disappointed that she couldn't break the record.

Interestingly, Brook broke the record against Welsh Fire in 2023, as he only required 41 deliveries to record 105 not out for the Superchargers. Had Perrin taken a delivery less, she would have equalled Brook's record of scoring the fastest-ever century in the 100-ball competition, but it was not to be, as the record remains safe as of now.

After the game, when she was told about this record, she jokingly revealed that she would hit the gym so that she could hit the sixes further and go for the record next time around. Following this outstanding victory, the Superchargers will now face the Southern Brave women in the Hundred women's competition finale, scheduled for August 31st at 6:45 PM IST.
