Ollie Robinson walked off the field in the middle of his 12th over on the opening day of the Leeds Test. The cricketer left under mysterious circumstances in the afternoon session, prompting senior teammate Stuart Broad to finish the 43rd over of the first Australian innings.

Robinson pulled up sore and walked off the field, and gave England a massive injury scare in a must-win Ashes Test match. As per reports, the speedster will not be taking any further part on Day 1.

Ollie Robinson shared the new-ball with Stuart Broad, after his skipper Ben Stokes had won the toss and invited the Australians to bat first. They got much swing and bounce within the opening hour, however, only Broad has wickets to show for amongst the two so far.

Robinson, who was called in to bowl the 43rd over of the day, left the field after delivering just two balls. The 29-year-old looked troubled and seems to have sustained an untimely injury in his follow-through.

Recent reports and an update from the English camp suggests that the speedster may have sustained a back spasm. While he will not bowl any further on Day 1, it remains to be seen whether he will make a return to the field on the second day.

Robinson has claimed 10 wickets in the series so far, with five each during England’s close defeats at Birmingham and Lord’s. He went wicketless in the first Australian innings at Headingley before leaving field, having conceded 38 runs from his 11.2 overs.

In the meantime, the visitors were shot out for just 263, with Mark Wood’s five-fer inflicting the most damage in the innings. Chris Woakes struck thrice while Stuart Broad collected two as the English pacemen accounted for all 10 Australian wickets within two thirds of the opening day’s play.
