Former Indian cricketer, MS Dhoni, who is widely worshipped as a demigod in the country, is on the cusp of celebrating his 42nd birthday on Friday, July 7.

Dhoni fans create giant cutouts to celebrate the cricketing icon's 42nd birthday

As the much-anticipated occasion approaches, yet another display of his immense popularity has come to the fore which just shows the widespread adulation he commands across the nation.

Social media platforms are abuzz with chatter about a gigantic 77-foot cutout of Dhoni which has captured the attention of fans across the country.

Created by his fans from Andhra Pradesh, the towering tribute to their idol is a proof of their devotion and serves to commemorate Dhoni's birthday. The stupendous depiction portrays Dhoni clad in his training attire for the Chennai Super Kings where he is donning a characteristic smile which is loved by millions.

The magnificent tribute doesn’t come as a surprise considering Dhoni's recent feat as the captain of CSK where he led the side to a record fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title.

In addition to the massive 77-foot cutout, another striking tribute measuring approximately 52 feet has been prepared by dedicated fans hailing from Hyderabad. This colossal structure depicts Dhoni in his cricketing gear, wearing the iconic Indian jersey and holding a bat in his left hand.

Having graced the international cricket arena for close to 15 years, MS Dhoni has attained every accolade a captain could desire. Following his appointment as captain of the Indian T20I squad, Dhoni led his team to victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. Under his leadership, the Men in Blue also won the ICC World Cup in 2011 and subsequently clinched the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

Dhoni's international career boasts 350 ODIs and 95 Test matches, during which he amassed 10,773 and 4,876 runs, respectively. Furthermore, he represented the India in 98 T20Is and scored 1,617 runs.

While the legendary cricketer bid farewell to international cricket in 2020, he chose to continue his journey in the IPL where he leads CSK.
