Moeen Ali has been the talk of the town in Ashes 2023 after his decision to come out of Test retirement ahead of the Ashes. He played a big role in England's iconic victory at Leeds and in the first innings of the fourth Test at Manchester got a big wicket of Marnus Labuschagne to bring England back in the game. Now, as England start their reply to Australia's 317 in the first innings, Moeen Ali is looking pretty solid at number 3 with 31 off 44 balls at Lunch on Day 2.

However, the big news is that he has now become only the fourth player for England to take 200 Test wickets and score 3000 Test runs after Ian Botham, Andrew Flintoff and Stuart Broad. Overall, he is the 16th player to reach this landmark which speaks a lot about the talent of the charismatic all-rounder. Moeen Ali crossed 3000 Test runs with a boundary off the bowling of Green in the 14th over of England's innings and he has achieved this feat in 67 Test matches.

It makes him the fourth fastest to do the double of 3000 runs and 200 Test wickets in Test cricket after Shakib Al Hasan (54 Tests), Ian Botham (55 Tests) and Chris Cairns (58 Tests). Moeen Ali has five hundred and 14 fifties in Test cricket while in the ODI cricket, he has three hundreds.

Talking about the Ashes 2023, Australia are leading the series by a 2-1 margin but all the games have been pretty close and riveting to make it a memorable Ashes so far. At the time of writing, England are 61 for 1 in 16 overs at Lunch on Day 2 and trail by 256 runs as Starc provided the Aussies with early wicket of Ben Duckett.
