Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah earned his 50th Test cap by taking field in the second match of the home series against West Indies in Delhi. The legendary paceman has now become only the seventh Indian cricketer in history to play at least 50 matches in each of the three international formats, joining the likes of former captains MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, current ODI skipper Rohit Sharma, legendary spin-bowling all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as well as elegant opening batter KL Rahul.
Yashasvi Jaiswal mounts 173*, completes 3,000 runs
Blistering Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal mounted 173* from 253 balls with 22 elegant boundaries against West Indies on Day 1 of the second Test against West Indies in Delhi. While the innings marked Jaiswal’s seventh Test century, it also helped him complete 3,000 runs in international cricket. The 23-year-old has aggregated over 2,400 of those runs in Tests, just 15 in ODIs and 723 runs from 22 innings in T20Is ever since he made his international debut for Team India back in July 2023.
Sophie Devine makes World Cup sixes record with classy knock
New Zealand captain Sophie Devine punched out 63 runs from 85 balls against Bangladesh Women in match number 11 of the 2025 Women’s World Cup in Guwahati. The legendary all-rounder launched two maximums in her innings to soar past the World Cup six-hitting tally of West Indies’ Deandra Dottin. With 23 sixes, Sophie Devine holds the highest number of sixes among any batter in the history of Women’s World Cup matches. New Zealand Women also won the match by 100 runs against Bangladesh to register their first win of the tournament.
Sanju Samson in Kerala squad for Ranji Trophy 2025-26
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has been selected in Kerala squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season in India. The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has also appointed new captain in the form of Mohammed Azharuddeen, replacing Sachin Baby. The Kerala squad also features several regular players like M D Nidheesh, Salman Nizar and Vathsal Govind, while Baba Aparajith will be joining the team as vice-captain. Kerala will face Maharashtra in their first match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season in Thiruvananthapuram between October 15 and October 18.

Legendary Indian batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will reportedly play domestic cricket in India after the conclusion of the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia. As reported by the PTI, the two senior pros have agreed to the suggestion made by BCCI chief selector and former fast bowler Ajit Agarkar. Since Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are only active in ODIs for Team India, the two cricketers will likely play a handful of matches in the upcoming 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season as they bid to prep themselves for the 2027 ICC World Cup in South Africa.
