In the ongoing fifth and final Test between India and England at the Oval, Ravindra Jadeja escaped a major injury as the southpaw was struck on his thumb with a lethal yorker. On the last ball of the 67th over, Joshua Tongue bowled a lethal yorker right onto the block hole, and Jadeja was hit on his thumb.

The umpire raised his finger for LBW, but the southpaw opted for a review, and the replay showed the impact was outside off.

Jadeja Takes A Blow On The Thumb

While Ravindra Jadeja survived, the play had to be halted for a few minutes as the left-handed batter required medical attention. The physios rushed to attend Jadeja, who was in pain after that hit. The doctors taped Jaddu's leg, following which the southpaw continued to bat.

Notably, the fans were worried as they feared a Pant-like injury. Jadeja escaped a major Pant-like injury. Had the ball been a few inches to his right, the India batter too would have had to hop out of the ground.

Jadeja Escapes Pant-Like Injury

Talking about Pant, he took a blow on his toe on Day 1 of the 4th Test off Chris Woakes' bowling, following which the southpaw walked out of the field on a cart. Later, it was revealed that Rishabh suffered a fracture, and despite returning to bat, the southpaw was ruled out of the fifth Test. 

Further, Pant will miss the action for six-weeks. Talking about the ongoing match, at the time of writing this article, Jadeja has slammed another fifty-plus score and is batting on 53 (76). Further, India have tumbled for 396 and England have the task to chase down the highest-total at the Oval in the history of the sport.
