Virat Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers in the world, and his energy on the field has been a sight to behold. The glimpse of it was seen in the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka as well, where Virat Kohli made a brilliant half-save at covers when Pathum Nissanka drove the ball powerfully to his left.

The Indian star dived full-length to his left and brought down all the steam that the shot had generated and reduced it to just a single. It is such fielding effort that puts the pressure on the batting team, and provides the much-needed confidence to the bowling group as well.

Talking about the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. Indian bowlers and fielders showed great commitment though and picked wickets at regular intervals as Sri Lankan middle order once again failed to deliver. 

Pathum Nissanka was the only player to show some resilience and scored 56 off 75 balls with nine fours in it. They were reduced to 142-6 at one point in time, but Wanindu Hasaranga and Dunith Wellalage stitched a decent partnership, and took Sri Lanka over 170, before Arshdeep got the better of Hasaranga in the 43rd over.
