Rohit Sharma is back for men in blue and is leading India in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. He has now head coach Gautam Gambhir alongside him, and since the time Gambhir has taken over, there has been tendency to make batters chip in with some overs to provide more flexibility and options to the team.

In the T20I series, the captain Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh turned the tables in the final T20I with their part-time tweakers, and plenty of visuals have come forward where many batters are seen rolling his arms.

Rohit Sharma Will Not Bowl In International Cricket

So, there were speculations that even Rohit Sharma would have to bowl as he was quite a handy bowler in his younger days. He was asked the same during the toss in the first T20I, to which Rohit clearly replied that he will focus on batting and added in a bit of humorous way that there are many bowlers who can rolll their arms and he does not need to do that.

"I will focus on my batting. We have enough bowlers in the squad that can roll their arm over."

All the matches of the ODI series will be played at the R. Premadasa in Colombo, and it is an important series in mind with preparation of Champions Trophy 2025 in mind.
