Gujarat Titans star Sai Kishore demonstrated his wares with the bat for Tamil Nadu in their recent Elite Group D match of the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Batting at number six against Tripura, Kishore clattered three boundaries and eight huge sixes to blaze Tamil Nadu from 26-4 to 204-5 in 20 overs.

The 29-year-old even launched three of those sixes in successive deliveries to provide the death-overs impetus to Tamil Nadu, as the Gujarat Titans spinner justifies his IPL 2026 retention by the franchise.

Sai Kishore raises his stocks as an all-rounder

Specialist left-arm spinner Sai Kishore blasted 87* from just 39 balls for Tamil Nadu, blazing them to 204-5 in 20 overs after having slipped to 26-4 at one stage. The 29-year-old, batting at number six, arrived to the crease in the final over of the powerplay after the dismissal of Mohamed Ali.

With a previous best T20 score of a mere 21*, Sai Kishore defied logic and raging Tripura bowlers to whack his career-best score with the bat, doing so mere weeks after having being retained by the Gujarat Titans franchise for next year’s IPL 2026 season.

The cricketer even finished off the Tamil Nadu innings on a fiery note, smacking Tripura fast bowler Indrajit Debnath for three successive sixes.

Sai Kishore started off with a 119-run partnership for the fifth wicket with captain Narayan Jagadeesan, with the latter himself smearing 83 from 49 balls. After Jagadeesan’s dismissal, Kishore took over the run-scoring onus in the slog overs alongside R Rajkumar.

Earlier this year during the IPL 2025 season, Sai Kishore picked up 19 wickets in 15 matches for the Gujarat Titans, doing so at an average of 20.68 in an otherwise high-scoring tournament. He was later retained by the franchise alongside the likes of captain Shubman Gill, Test star Sai Sudharsan, legendary Englishman Jos Buttler and Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj.
