No individual has more wickets and 5 wicket hauls than Mitchell Starc in day and night tests.
Mitchell Starc now has 87 wickets with the pink ball, the highest in the format’s history. However, against Starc, only Joe Root managed to show some resistance.
He scored his first century on Australian soil and guided England to 300+ runs total.
Apart from Starc, Neser and Scott Boland grabbed a wicket each, but England are still fighting a 61* run partnership for the last wicket. At the end of Day 1, the visitors are 325/9.
