The Punjab Kings have begun their IPL 2025 campaign against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. After what was an exciting mega auction for the Kings, the focus now shifts for them to execute on the field.
One of their key buys was Shreyas Iyer who will also be leading the side in this season. Iyer, who guided Kolkata Knight Riders to their third title last year, aims to replicate similar success with Punjab and get their hands on the maiden IPL trophy.
Iyer, who has a pretty successful CV as a T20 skipper, having also captained Delhi Capitals in the past, became the fourth player in IPL history to captain three different teams. The 30-year-old reached this milestone as he officially took the field as the new captain of the Punjab Kings.
