Delhi Capitals' fast bowler Mukesh Kumar unleashed his best form against Lucknow Super Giants in the 40th match of IPL 2025. He picked up a four-wicket-haul, which is the best bowling figure of his IPL career.

LSG hosted DC at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow in an exciting contest of the IPL 2025 season rivalry week. Delhi's captain Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Lucknow, meanwhile, had a blazing start as openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram had an 87-run partnership. While Markram scored a fifty, Marsh missed his half-century mark by 5 runs to get dismissed on 45.

Mukesh Kumar Pulls Brakes On LSG’s Inning

That being said, to put a stoppage to the flow of runs, Mukesh Kumar stepped up for Delhi Capitals. He bowled a magical spell to claim important wickets of Marsh, Abdul Samad, Ayush Badoni and Rishabh Pant.

In his 4-over spell, Kumar picked up a four-wicket-haul and conceded 33 runs. This is his best bowling figure in IPL and also his first 4-fer in the league.

Owing to Mukesh Kumar’s heroics with the ball, DC managed to restrict LSG to a below-par total of 159 runs. Captain Pant, who demoted himself to no.7, failed to score a single run against Mukesh in the final 2 balls of the first inning.

Interestingly, the last time the two teams came face to face in IPL 2025, DC snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat. Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam’s partnership sealed a thrilling 1-wicket victory for Delhi.
