LSG captain Rishabh Pant faced the wrath of the fans as he once again got dismissed cheaply. In a crucial match against SRH, Pant scored just 7 runs off 6 balls, despite the openers setting the tone with a 115-run partnership.

With the playoff berth on the line, Lucknow Super Giants faced Sunrisers Hyderabad. LSG batted first, and openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram unleashed an onslaught. The duo brought up 115 runs for the opening partnership.

While Marsh was dismissed on 65 off 39 balls by debutant Harsh Dubey, Pant promoted himself to no.3 to capitalise on the momentum. However, he instead ended up being a disappointment.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant, who is paid INR 27 crore in IPL 2025, has been in one of the worst forms of his life. With an average of 12.27, he has been the weak link of Lucknow’s batting lineup.

The ball ballooned back towards the bowler. Malinga dived to his left in his follow-through and took a stunning low catch while falling, ending Pant’s scratch knock of 7 off 6 balls.

Meanwhile, fans lashed out at Rishabh Pant for playing a rash shot and not taking responsibility as LSG’s captain. Team owner Sanjeev Goenka was also pissed as he left the stadium for a brief moment.
