Ahead of that, the preparations are going on, teams are doing their last-minute preparation. Stealing the spotlight, Nepal and Thailand have punched their tickets to the global qualifiers.
Nepal Seals Global Qualifier Spot
The Women’s T20 World Cup is on the way, and fierce competition is going on to secure a place in the global qualifiers. After a thrilling run in the Asia Qualifiers, Nepal and Thailand have powered their way into the global qualifier stage. With fearless performances in the Super Three phase, both teams proved they’re ready for the big stage, turning dreams into reality with flair and determination.
While facing the UAE in the last clash, Nepal unleashed its best and dominated the opponent. While restricting the UAE Women in 114 runs, Nepal’s Manisha Upadhayay showcased bowling domination with a remarkable 4-wicket haul, and the other bowlers kept the domination alive.
Nepal Women showed true team spirit in their chase, overcoming early setbacks with a composed effort. After some early setbacks, Samjhana Khadka and Indu Barma added crucial 21 and 30 runs. Along with Rubina Chhetry’s 23-run knock, Nepal secured a 5-wicket victory.
Thailand In, Two Spots Up For Grabs
Earlier, Nepal’s win, Thailand had already defeated the UAE side. While batting first, the Thailand batters set the stage on fire. Nattaya Boochatham missed the deserving half-century by just 1 run, and Nannapat Koncharoenkai’s 39-run innings gave a big boost. Lastly, Natthakan Chantham’s quickfire 46-run innings helped them to put on a total of 144 runs on the board.
While defending the total, the Thai bowler stepped into the domination. Thipatcha Putthawong secured 2 wickets, and the UAE side ended their innings in just 90 runs and secured a 54-run victory.
With the victory, Thailand and Nepal joined Scotland and Bangladesh in the Global Qualifier. Now, all eyes are on the Europe and Africa Qualifiers, where the final two spots are still up for grabs.
