Change is the only constant, and the Pakistan Cricket Board is taking it seriously, bringing continuous reforms. In the recent development, PCB appointed Pakistan’s Test skipper Shan Masood as the board’s Consultant of International Cricket and Players’ Affairs.
After Masood embraced a new role in his career, former Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi congratulated him on the fresh start. Adding to this, he has come up with a special suggestion for the betterment of Pakistan’s domestic cricket.
Afridi congratulates Shan Masood on his new role
For the past few years, Pakistan cricket has faced massive lows. The blows crossed the boundary line as the administration also faced some major challenges. After repetitive failures on the international stage, Pakistan cricket needed a major change, and the Pakistan cricket board has taken a revolutionary step.
Pakistan Test skipper Shan Masood has been rewarded with a new role as PCB’s Consultant for International Cricket and Players’ Affairs. Hailing the massive step of the cricket board, former Pakistani star Shahid Afridi called him a ‘great choice’ for the role.
“Congratulations to Shan Masood on being appointed as the International Director of PCB, a great choice,” he wrote on his X handle.
Afridi offers advice to strengthen domestic cricket
Over the years, domestic cricket has been the root of any nation, and Pakistan is not away from the list. To nurture the next generation of stars, Shahid Afridi has called for a boost to the domestic circuit, suggesting the inclusion of Sarfaraz Ahmed to strengthen the system.
“I recommend Sarfaraz Ahmed would be an excellent fit to lead domestic cricket. Only cricketers truly understand the challenges and needs of their fellow players. These roles couldn’t be in better hands. Great to see PCB making thoughtful and forward-looking decisions for Pakistan cricket,” he added.
After starting the Test series against South Africa, Pakistan gave a magical start as they won the first Test by a 93-run margin. But their struggle returned in the next match as the Proteas defeated them by 8 wickets. With the white-ball series approaching, the Men in Green will be eager to seek redemption on home soil.
