West Indies cricket great Kieron Pollard has inscribed his name in the history books once more. On August 30th, in the 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Pollard became only the second player ever to score over 14,000 runs in T20 cricket.

Playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders against Barbados Royals at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, the 38-year-old Pollard hit the milestone in an innings where he remained not out on 19.

Although his innings was brief, the achievement was notable in itself, demonstrating his incredible stamina and resilience in the shortest form of the game.

Kieron Pollard Joins Chris Gayle's Class

With that 19-run knock, Kieron Pollard now has 14,000+ runs in 712 T20 matches, only second to the iconic Chris Gayle, who finished his career with 14,562 runs.

Pollard has overtaken contemporary stars Alex Hales, David Warner, and Shoaib Malik on the all-time run scorers list.

His batting statistics are just as phenomenal: 1 century, 64 half-centuries, 876 fours, and 942 sixes, demonstrating why he's consistently ranked as one of the most potent finishers in T20 cricket.

Aside from his batting, Pollard has also been an instant-changing bowler, taking over 330 wickets in T20 cricket, making him one of the most well-rounded all-rounders ever produced by the format.

Pollard made his T20 debut in 2006 and, to date, has represented 19 teams around the world, among them a very successful one with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, where he amassed 3,412 runs from 189 games and won multiple trophies for the franchise.

That being said, the match where Kieron Pollard reached the milestone was memorable for the Trinbago Knight Riders as well. They comfortably chased down a 179-run target, thanks to Colin Munro’s 67 and Nicholas Pooran’s explosive 65 not out.
