With an effort that sealed his side the victory when his side was in trouble, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been awarded player of the match for scoring 64 from just 37 balls with four fours and five sixes while batting at a strike rate of 172. With the ball, he deliveries three overs and picked the wicket of Jitesh Sharma at a crucial stage.

That was another close game in this IPL 2024 with two sides desperate for victory. SRH were asked to bat first and they didn't had a great start with Travis Head and Aiden Markram departing early. A few runs here and there but wickets kept falling at regular intervals until Nitish Reddy turned the tide with a blazing 64 and some contributions from the lower order propelled them to 182.

In reply, Punjab were in deep trouble right from the start with three down in no time. The middle-order including Sikandar Raza and Sam Curran did their bit but couldn't force Hyderabad to re-think of their strategy until Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma arrived at the centre finding boundaries after boundaries to take the match as close as they could have but couldn't finish it off with SRH winning by two runs.
