Travis Head’s shaky knock of 15-ball 21 came to an end on Tuesday (April 9) when Shikhar Dhawan took an excellent running backward catch off Arshdeep Singh during Match 23 of the IPL 2024 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.

After winning the toss and asking SRH to bat first, Dhawan gave the much-required breakthrough for his side during the fourth over of the innings. Arshdeep bowled an outside off stump good length delivery, which tempted the Australian opener to go big.

However, all Head got a huge top-edge, and Dhawan, placed at mid-off, ran back perfectly before making the catch look very simple.

Meanwhile, PBKS handed SRH another hefty blow by dismissing Aiden Markram for a two-ball duck. It was Arshdeep again who did the job, as two wickets in three balls gave Punjab early joy.

At the time of writing this, Punjab have reduced Hyderabad to 29/2 after 4.2 overs, with Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Reddy in the middle, on 6* and 0* respectively. Sam Curran is the latest man to be introduced by Dhawan, while Kagiso Rabada conceded 20 runs off his two overs.
