Awards from the match:
Strongest Player of the Match: Axar Patel
Game Changer of the match: R Ashwin
Man of the Match: Ravindra Jadeja (10 wickets in the match and 38 runs with the bat)
Update from the WTC Table, If India win 4-0 and SL win their series against NZ in NZ 2-0 (2 match series) then AUS will be knocked out of the WTC, otherwise the Aussies will have a chance at Redemption at the biggest stage of Test Cricket. I will be very scared of the Aussies if we meet them in the WTC Final at Oval. That is going to be fun...for who? We shall find out!! 👀
Great gesture by the Aussies:
INDIA WIN!!! Pujara is there to strike the winning runs in his 100th Test Match. A fairytale ending to the test match for him. India retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Australia will be gutted, absolutely gutted the way Day-3 has gone for them in this second Test Match. India take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the 4 match series.
India needs 1 run to win to retain the BGT!!
Shakir: I am just a general cricket fan, if I call myself an expert ever, I need you use that cricket bat on me!!
Badal: He has just destroyed our career as experts even before we got started being one. 4️⃣,4️⃣,4️⃣,6️⃣ he has taken the attack to the opposition.
Shakir: Indeed, here's the third cover drive....KS Bharat showing some class here. Seems to be saying to us, be vary of what you speak/type!
Badal: The moment we started criticising him, seems like he has taken it personally, Shakir.
Badal: Looks unlikely to me. He hasn't shown enough from a batters perspective and with 'n' number of options in the bank, he might not stay for long.
Shakir: Pant is out for at least 18 months. So, will he be the one for that long?
Badal: I know he has worked hard to be here but honestly don't feel like he is good enough. And, once Pant is back he starts over him any day. By the way just as i was critising him, he has played a beautiful cover drive for a boundary.
Shakir: Srikar Bharat, your long time Test keeper? @Badal Do you see enough batting skill in the two innings he has had to play? I know it is a bit early but would love to hear your opinion....
After the end of 22 overs, IND-89-4 (26 more to win)
Srikar Bharat is in and has the opportunity to finish the match for India in his second career Test Match
Wiiicckkkett!!!One shot too many for Shreyas and this time he hold on to the deep mid wicket fielder, India lose their fourth.
SSIIXXX!! It is Shreyas this time. India looking in a hurry to finish it. Steps down the ground and deposits it over the mid-wicket boundary..
Fooouurr!! Pujara punches it off the back foot in Pujara style for a fine boundary...
India after 20 overs, 76-3 (need 39 runs to win)
Interesting Trivia: Virat Kohli got stumped for the first time in Test Cricket and Rohit got run-out for the first time as well in Test Cricket!
Shakir: Though, I think these two should guide us home from here
Coming back, can AUS send some kind of shock waves in the INDIAN Camp by taking a quick wicket or two here?
Nice one mate!
Badal: He can join us tomorrow for a T20 game. We can surely give him enough content in a day to keep himself entertained until the next Test.
King Kohli is back in the hut...
Kohli has been stumped and stunned at the same time. Murphy makes him look like a fool here. Tosses it up on a length outside off invites him into it and beats him. Kohli stands in no man's land here and wil take the long walk back here.
Shakir: What do you think Badal? What will be a good suggestion for DK!? Things to do in Delhi for the next two days?
At the end of 18 overs IND-69/2 (need 46 runs to win)
FFOOUURR!! Kohli calmly just tucks that one towards the fine leg region and threads the small gap for a fine boundary...
DK got no chill 😎
Australia at the moment be like, "MUJHE APNE GHAR JAANA HAI"!!
After 13 overs, India are 59-2 (Need 56 more runs to win)
Appeal against Kohli, but the umpire (Nitin Menon) shakes his head in dismissal of the appeal
Virat Kohli and Pujara looking very comfortable and looks like India should get there before Tea....
Shakir: I think Australia weren't able to capitalise in the small windows that they got, not once but twice in the match. The had India reeling on 139-7 yesterday and couldn't manage to get a healthy lead and then today morning it was....I am short of words of what it was.....and now they find themselves in a tough spot in the series. 4-0 India on the cards!!
Stat Alert - Kohli is nearing 25000 International Runs and is just 2 runs away from the landmark. Fooouurrr!!!! Kohli gets to the landmark in some style, steps out and spanks it down the ground for a boundary...
Shakir: India need 65 more runs, you gotta say AUS need a miracle from here. Can the HOME boy guide India to win...
You will have to say that the Aussie spin attack hasn't been able to create the same pressure that the Indian spin twin were able to....50 up for India
Just when we thought it would be over soon, Rohit Sharma has been found in no man's land and will have to walk back here. Hitman flicks it towards square leg and calls it for a double. He decides against it at the last moment but Pujara is half way through...skipper Rohit sacrifices his wicket here to help the Wall stay out in the middle of his 100th Test. #RESPECT
Smoked into the stands down the ground! He is playing T20 cricket here.
RoHIT Sharma teaching Australian's how to bat against spin on a turning deck
Badal: Into the stands she goes! That's how you do it kiddos (Aussies)
12:13 PM IST, Badal: That's a perfect reply for Mark Waugh, who on air said that Pujara is spoting everything other than the red ball at the moment.
Kunhemann has the ball in his hand
Rohit Sharma and Pujara to resume the innings for Team India
Time for the second session to get underway here
Out of Jadeja's 7 wickets, five were bowled. The last bowler to do so is Shoaib Akhtar against New Zealand in Lahore in 2002. The only other spinner to do it in the last 50 years is Anil Kumble against South Africa in Joburg in 1992.

Is Sir Jadeja India's greatest Test all-rounder ever?
Just for fun:
Time for Lunch on Day 3 of this Test between India and Australia
A total of 10 wickets have fallen in the first session and 9 of them belonged to the Aussies. Jadeja was the start of the 1st session as he finished with 7 wickets in the morning itself.
FOUR! Flicked towards deep mid-wicket by RoHITMAN Sharma
Badal: I think they would have already thought 'n' number of times about dropping him they are just hoping to get the perfect opportunity and this might be it. But, the heart says they still won't drop him, don't know why.
Probuddha: KL Rahul is inventing new ways to get out. What do you think, with that walk back to the pavilion is it time for India to start thinking about Shubman Gill?
Great News for Team India, the wall survives
Another one could be back in the hut here, Pujara could became the first in history to bag a pair in his 100th Test
India are 6-1
Length delivery, turns past from the middle and leg. Rahul flicks and it hits the pads of short leg. The ball rebounds from there and loops up towards the wicketkeeper. A freakish dismissal and KL Rahul nods his head and walks back in despair. Lyon gets the first wicket of the innings.
Shakir: When you are not in form nothing works for you, that's a perfect example right there
Badal: Yes, they can! KL Rahul departs
Can Australia make a fight out of this?
KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma walk out to the middle, Matt Kunhemann has ball in hand
India have a target of 115 runs to win the 2nd Test and make it 2-0 in the BGT
Australia have been bundled out here...they have lost 9 wickets for just 52 runs this morning. They could only manage to bat for an hour and a half depsite having 9 wickets in hand.

Make it 7 for Jadeja
A touch fuller in length wide outside off stump, the debutant Kuhnemann goes for the reverse sweep and gets an inside edge onto the stumps here.
Jadeja gets his 6th wicket on the innings
A touch full in length wide outside off, a wild slog by Garry. The ball hits the inside half of the blade and rattles the stumps here.
9th one goes down here. This Test won't go beyond the second session.
Badal: Sorry to say but making Amazon Prime documentaries and winning on the streets in Pakistan does you no good. To win in India you need character, grit and determination which are all out of the window when it come to this team.
Australia lose their 7th on Day 3, they are 110-8 after 27.1 overs
It is all over for Australia. Length ball on the leg peg, goes for the reverse sweep. Carey plays the wrong line here and gets cleaned up here. A poor shot selection leads to Carey's downfall
Jadeja gets his fifer | It is his 12th in Test cricket
Badal: Haven't seen a weaker Australian team in my life
Shakir: I expected them to show a fight, they have just gifted it to Team India here...
Badal: Australia have been reckless here, they have thrown away wickets...Shakir are you dissapointed in them?
Jadeja on a hattrick here
That is not a shot to be played by an Australian skipper in this situation, to say the least! Jadeja is on a hattrick!

Good length delivery on the stumps. Keeps way too low and Cummins, who swings across the line blindly for a slog sweep, misses it and hears the death rattle of the stumps. Cummins goes for a golden duck as they lose their 7th wicket.
The Aussies are falling like pins. Jadeja drags Handscomb on the front foot to crack the outside edge into first slip.
Another one bites the dust. Renshaw falls and burns a review. Three reds and plumb in front.
Batting Review - No Bat Involved ➡️ Pitched - In Line ➡️ Impact - In Line ➡️ Wickets - Hitting

A loud appeal and the umpire raises his finger, Renhsaw has sent it upstairs...
10: 19 AM Arijit: Handscomb and Renshaw need to take this deep from here. But with some patches around the fuller region, it isn't going to be easy.
Marnus departs..
Chopped it down!! Arm ball from Jadeja and Marnus played the fuller ball on the backfoot. He gets an under edge and the ball clawed back to the timbers. This is another huge wicket with contrast to the game and Jadeja outfoxes Marnus once again in the series.
Anna on 🔥
Star Sports knew that Ashwin would be the one to once again take the down the Aussies:

Australia have lost a review here and more importantly they have lost their best batter...
Batting Review - No Bat Involved ➡️ Pitched - Outside off ➡️ Impact - In Line ➡️ Wickets - Umpires call
Smith takes the review in hope that something can save him here:
The ball keeps low and that is what deceives Smudge here...
This time Smudge goes for the reverse sweep and fails to get bat on it, a loud appeal and the umpire raises his finger...
India has lost the review here...
Batting Review - No Bat Involved ➡️ Pitched - Outside off ➡️ Impact - Outside off
Skipper RO has taken the review
Length ball outside off stump, spins back in as Labu goes for the reverse but fails to get bat on it, the ball hits him on the back leg and that is why there is this excitement from the Indian's
Ashwin and KS go up in excitement for two balls in a row but the umpire is not at all interested....
A bit more of cautious approach from the Aussies so far, they haven't been ultra aggressive like they were last evening
Australia's big boys Smudge and Labu are out in the middle...
Tosses it up on a length on the off stump, invites the batter into the front foot defense and gets the outside edge on its way to the keeper's gloves. Australia have suffered the first loss and in comes Smudge.
That's the perfect start that India were after, Anna gets his man. Travis Head departs here
Australia will resume on a 62 run lead | Travis Head and Labuschagne are out in the middle for the visitors. Anna (Ashwin) has the ball in his hand and India look to start on the front foot...
There is still a lot of debate around Virat Kohli's dismissal, we have tweet for you that might clear things out a touch:
Rohit Sharma's pep talk ahead of star of play on Day 3:

Hello and a warm welcome to the live coverage of Day 3 in the 2nd Test between India and Australia. It is a very important day for both teams, whoever wins the day is all set to win the Test. This is Badal Pareek and I will be shortly joined by Shakir as we take you through this ride.
Time for Day 3 in this exciting Test match between India and Australia
So a fascinating day of Test cricket comes to a close as it is 'Advantage Australia' on Day-2 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The lead of 62 runs will encourage Australia to be positive even on Day-3 and if the Aussies get to a lead of 230-250 runs they will feel they have the upper hand in the contest. Travis Head and Steve Smith will be crucial for Australia along with Marnus. It is going to be a battle of some good spin bowling against some better batsman of spin. Do join us for the live blog of Day-3 of the second test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Till then as Salman Bhai says, 'Do whatever you want to do man! Signing off for the day. Bye!
Australia in commanding position at the end of Day-2
At Stumps on Day-2, AUS - 61/1 (Lead by 62 Runs)
Travis Head - 39* (40), M. Labuschagne 16* (19)
R. Jadeja - 23/1 (3 overs)
So, with that we have reached the end of the day's action and Australians will be elated with the start they have got. They would have thought to lose as fewer wickets possible but to have scored 61 runs in 12 overs that they batted is phenomenal!!
Wicckkettt!!! Khawaja is GONE...He tries to paddle one but it goes towards Shreyas Iyer who holds on to a sharp catch. India have tasted blood. A thrilling last 20 mins await us.
Jadeja is brought into the attack from the other and now it is spin from both ends
Australia at the end of 4 overs are 12-0 (Lead by 13)
Couple of boundaries from Travis Head in Shami's second over and he is looking positive out there!
Badal: Let's be honest, Australia won't manage to post a challenging total here. They won't get past 150. However, if they manage to go past 200, they will be in the driving seat.
Shakir: So, this is going to be a tough little period for Australia. They will try to get through the day with minimal damage. What do you think will be a challenging target for India? @Badal
Ashwin to start off the proceeding for Team India. Khawaja walks out to the middle alongside Head who replaces Warner for the 2nd innings.
Australia will come out to bat shortly with 13 overs still left...50 minutes are still left in the day
Australia have a 1 run lead here as India have been bundled out for 262.
Australia take a 1 run lead at the end of the first innings
Shami has been cleaned up by Kuhnemann, it was overpitched as he went for the slog but failed to get bat on ball here.
The damage that Axar did before being dismissed:

India trail by 4 runs and have a wicket left...
Look's like Elon Musk's rocket has just been caught by Pat Cummins here. Axar smashed it straight down the ground and the Australia skipper has managed to pluck it out of mid-air.
SSIIXXXX!!! Axar is looking to attack the spinner now. What a shot!! Goes inside out over the cover region for a beautiful six.
Shami has walked out to the middle, it is going to be an interesting last hour here. Shami is not going to stand and watch. He will try to go after the bowlers.
Gooonnneee!!! Finally Australia break-through. Ashwin flicks one to square leg where Renshaw takes a smart catch. A soft dismissal and Captain Pat has got a crucial one for Australia.
Australia have opted for the new ball and as the Aussies are selecting the ball, drinks have been called upon.
After the end of 80 overs, India are 252-7 (trail by 11 runs)
100 run stand comes up for the pair of AshWIN and Axar. India's 3rd Highest Partnership for the 8th wicket
Badal: Mr.Shakir has predicted a wicket for this over. Let's see what happens!
Axar was dropped on 28 by Smith. Watch how!

Badal: We bat till number 9 these days in Test cricket and that's a big reason for our success of late.
Shakir: Ashwin and Axar have looked the best batsman for India in front of spin...India are lucky to have spinners (Axar, Jadeja & Ash) who can bat so well!!
Meanwhile, Have a look at what Wagner has to say about England's approach in Test Cricket:
After 75 overs, India are 230/7 and trail by 33 runs
Fifty for Axar Patel, Wow!! some innings this from Patel. Gutsy and game changing from Bapu. He has bought India in the game and now once again you will feel that India are favorites at the moment.
Coming back to the test match, this is average stuff from Australia, they will be disappointed that they don't have a healthy lead in the first innings...
Update from the Women's T20 World Cup as India-W will be taking on England-W today. The match starts at 6:30 PM IST. Read the Match Preview and Analysis below ⏬
Chance!!! Another sharp chance missed by Matt Renshaw in the leg slip....as India trail by just 41 runs now!!
This is quality innings from Axar, he has shown some real character here and played with freedom under pressure. Great signs for India as they have a great backup for Jadeja now!!
Coming back to the live action, India are just 54 runs behind now. Australian camp will start to get frustrated as this partnership grows...
Shakir: C'mon Badal, the third umpire and viewers couldn't make out whether it was bat first after all the slow-mos and replays, how do you expect the umpire to see it with the naked eye. And in Nitin's favour it was pad first for me too!
Badal: Yes, the protocols were followed, the third umpire is not at fault. But, I don't think the same can be said for the umpire. In general if there is a doubt it should go in the batters favour, that's been the go to thing in cricket for ages. Personally, he is just unlucky here.
Shakir: A lot of buzz on social media regarding Kohli's dismissal. I personally feel the decision was right once it went to the third umpire. The protocol were followed and the decision was made in accordance. Nothing wrong!! And at the cost of sounding blunt and rude, rules are same for every player!!
200 up for India!! Lyon strays in line and Carey could not stop it and it goes for 4 byes!!
This is test cricket at its best. The game is flowing nicely through the ebbs and flows and the tussle between the bat and ball is riveting to see!!
Shakir: India are chipping away at the AUS total, they were about 125 behind when Axar-Ashwin got together. AUS will be frustrated with this partnership...that is 56 runs now.
2:43 PM IST: After the end of 65 overs, India are 193-7 and trail by
Ohhhh!! Axar gets a boundary off the edge and he has been dropped by Smith in the slips off Lyon. That could have been detrimental for India.
Welcome back, as we start the last session of Day-2 at Delhi, India resume from 179-7
Time for Tea Break in the 2nd Test between India and Australia
India are 179-7 and are 84 runs behind
A brilliant session for the visiting team here, Jadeja, Virat Kohli and KS Bharat were sent back to the pavilion. Axar and Ashwin have managed to get back some control but Australia are still in the driving seat here.
Australia in the driving seat
Badal: They need to build a defensive setup with the help of Lyon, restrict them from scoring and go short at the body with Pat Cummins. That will surely work in your favour.
Shakir: Yeah, but Axar-Ashwinn are batting number 8 and 9 but let me tell you they are quality when it comes to batting against spin...Axar showcasing that in that over against Kuhnemann.
Badal: Shakir, they did plan well and had Team India batters in control but not going all out against the lower order will hurt them...
Axar is going after the Aussie debutant here....10 runs off the first two balls

India now trail by just 94 runs
After the end of 59 Overs, India are 159-7!
Shakir, 1:55 PM: I beg to differ Badal, I think they have planned well and ensured that they haven't let the Indian batters score heavily even when they were set. The in & out field has helped them to keep a tab on the runs...
Badal: Australia are not aggressive enough at this moment. They need to showcase the real Aussie intent and make the Indian lower order fear. If not they can take this game away from you in not time...
Skipper Shakir has predicted it right, Pat is here and he has predicted a wicket in the next few overs...
Badal: If it reverses that will be great, if it doesn't reverse he can go ahead with short pitch stuff..
Shakir: I think, Captain Pat should bring himself back in the attack here. Ball is old now and we can see some reverse swing. And Ashwin and Axar can be troubled even more...
India are 152-7 | They are in deep trouble here
Let's move on now from the Kohli dismissal and we would want the same from Ash-Axar duo. They have to just settle things after these quick wickets and try to chip away on the AUS total as much possible.
Virat Kohli is disappointed with the decision against him.

MILESTONE ALERT | Nathan Lyon now 100 wickets against INDIA in Test Cricket. He becomes the 3rd bowler after Jimmy Anderson and Muralitharan to do so..
Shakir: I feel AUSTRALIA will have a lead of 75+ runs!!
His braveness ends here, Bharath goes for the sweep to a delivery that pitches down the leg side, it takes the top edge & goes up in the air to the man at first slip.
Bharath plays a reverse sweep on Lyon's spinning delivery...Brave shot!!
Badal: Time for a bold prediction, India will get bold out in this session and Australia will have a decent lead in their hands.
Badal: It was given, Kuhnemann's first Test wicket had to be King Kohli. Great start to his Test career.
King Kohli departs...
Batting Review - No Bat Involved ➡️ Pitched - Outside off ➡️ Impact - In-line ➡️ Wickets - Umpires call
Length ball on the stumps, Kohli tries to defend it off the front foot, the bat and pad are very close to the ball at the same time. The umpire thinks it is out but Kohli has challenged his decision.
Kohli in trouble here looks like we have jinxed him, the umpire has given him out.
Virat Kohli is closing in on a hard fought half-century here..
The match has opened up again with Jadeja's dismissal, India are 5 down.
Batting Review - No Bat Involved ➡️ Pitched - Outside off ➡️ Impact - In-line ➡️ Wickets - Hitting
LBW Appeealll.......and GIVEN!!! Murphy has caught Jadeja plumb in front of the wicket. But Jadeja has gone for the review. It looks out
The crowd is loving it in Delhi, Jadeja and Kohli are out in the middle helping India get back on track.

Meanwhile, in NZ vs ENG: Stuart Broad bowls a beauty to rattle Kane Williamson's off peg.
Stuart Broad and James Anderson are now the most successful bowling pair in Test history, they have surpassed Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath who had 1001 Test Wickets between them.

It spins a mile and beats the blade of Jadeja, Carey rips off the bails in a flash and appeals for stumping here. Sir Jadeja's feet are firmly placed on the ground and he survives.
Hundred comes up for Team India, King and Sir Jadeja have managed to calm things down out in the middle. India are 105-4 after 41.3 overs.

Badal: Fair point! But, I don't think Pat will think of resting him at the moment.
Shakir: Yeah, but I feel that it is also necessary not to over bowl Lyon, if he comes back fresh after a break he could be a bit more dangerous than what he seems at the moment.
Badal: Not at the moment but he can come in as the first change. Currently, Murphy and Garry in rhythm and I will let them carry on for another 30 minutes then bring in Marnus with Pat from the other end.
Shakir: I think it is time Australia try some leg spin, just to disrupt the mindset of the batters. Do you reckon Marnus can get a go here? @Badal
Todd Murphy will have a go from the other end
Badal: It has been exciting day of cricket. I have loved every bit of it and I expect things to be more entertaining from here on.
Time for the 2nd Session of Day 2 | India will resume on 88-4 with Kohli and Jadeja in the middle. Lyon has the ball in his hand.
Let's shift our focus back to cricket
It is time for memes
Just for fun | Lyon missing the dangerous Rishabh Pant

Time for Lunch on Day 2 of the 2nd Test
Australia on top after the 1st session of Day 2
India are 88-4 at Lunch on Day 2:
It was the Nathan Lyon show in the first hour of the day that has seen Australia take the drivers set here in Delhi. All four wickets have belonged to Garry, but lucky for India that Kohli and Jadeja have managed to put together a decent partnership. They will look to carry on in similar fashion in the second session. But, Australia do have a chance to get India cleaned up early if they manage a couple wickets in the first hour of the 2nd session.
Kohli and Jadeja have managed to steady the ship for Team India
India's only hope for the day, 'KING Kohli'

A touch short on the pads of the batter who rocks back and flicks it away, oh actually he flicks it into Peter Handscomb who somehow manages to keep hold of the ball and Garry gets his FOURTH of the day...
That's a stunner, Iyer has been dismissed here and India are 4 down. Australia are on top here..
A loud appeal for a catch at short leg, Australia believe there is an inside edge involved on this one from Shreyas Iyer's blade but the review shows no bat and the Aussies are left with no reviews...
Badal: All of a sudden a lot is happening out in the middle, looks like there is wicket round the corner every other delivery...
Garry has been the 'God Butcher' for Australia today...
Badal: That's a cracking stroke by King Kohli, he has flicked it away to the fence. That's trademark Kohli stuff right there
Can the King be the saviour for Team India?

India are in deep trouble here...as Pujara departs and India are 54-3
No bat involved
Pitching: In Line; Impact: In Line; Wickets: Hitting | Out
Looks like its a duck on his 100th Test for Pujara, yes it is finally Australia get the review right
Length ball on the stumps, Puji looks to defend it off the front foot, two sounds and a loud appeal follows, the Umpire is not interested but they have taken the review
Garry gets his name, Rohit Sharma has been cleaned up here, full length delivery on the stumps Ro goes back in his crease, it keeps low and he fails to get bat on it. The stumps have been rattled...
The replay on the big screen show that it would have been 'OUT' has they taken the review but they didn't and Pat Cummins' face shows it all
The Umpire is not interested and Aussies decide against taking the review
Ohh my lord, a loud appeal and Pujara could be out on a duck in his 100th Test
In walks the WALL at number 3 for Team India | Pujara walks out to the middle on his 100th Test amidst a loud cheer
KL Rahul will take the long walk back to the pavillion here...
No bat involved
Pitching: In Line; Impact: In Line; Wickets: Umpires Call | Out
Rahul has taken the review
That one spins back in towards the pads of the batter, KL fails to get bat on it and a loud appeal follows. The umpire raises his finger here
Team India's fielding coach on their brilliant effort in the field on day 1:

Lyon is back into the attack here, the ball is keeping low and he might be the one to get the breakthrough for Australia.
It was a back of a length delivery that nipped back in a touch, there were two sounds and the Aussies though there could be an inside edge but it wasn't to be...
No bat involved
Pitching: Outside off; Impact: Umpires Call; Wickets: Missing | Not Out
Review number two in quick succession and looks like another one has been wasted here
Badal: Hopefully, wasting this review doesn't hurt the team from down under.
That's a review wasted right there...
Australia Review
Pitching: In Line; Impact: Umpires Call; Wickets: Missing; Not Out
Length ball on the stumps, KL fails to get bat on ball, it hits him on the pads, Pat has decided to sent it upstairs
Howzzzat! A loud appeal but the umpire is not interested here...
Skipper Pat Cummins joins the attack from the other...
The proceedings are underway, out in the middle are Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul for Team India. Kuhnemann has the ball in hand.
Look who is ready to play his part in the 2nd Test, by the way concussion subs for Australia have done wonders back in the day, Can Renshaw do the same?
David Warner has been ruled out of the 2nd Test due to concussion. Matt Renshaw replaces him.
Meanwhile, we are just minutes away from the start of the days play. Get ready to the best players in action.
Shakir: Yes, he has been a wonderful servant for Team India. And, it will be interesting to see what he can do on this special day.
Badal: It is going to be an exciting day of play, I am eager to see Pujara bat in his 100th Test. This man has done wonders for India over the past few years and I expect him to do something similar today.
Hello and a warm welcome to the live coverage of this high voltage encounter between two rivals. This is Badal Pareek and I will be shortly joined by Shakir and Ajay as we take you through the major happeninings of the day...
Time for Day 2 of the second Test between India and Australia
Shakir, 5:13 PM: With that it was fun to cover the first day's play of the second test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. We will be back tomorrow with more fun and updates from Day-2 of the Test match. On behalf of Badal, DG & Arjun, this is Shakir signing off!! See ya...
An exciting day awaits us as India look ahead but who so ever saw those 9 overs that India batted will know that batting is not easy on this pitch and with three spinners operating for the Aussies, it will take a good batting display from the Indian side if they want to be in the drivers seat at the end of Day-2!
And with that spicy last over, it is over for Day-1 at Delhi. India get a scare but Rohit survives and India go harmless to Day-2.
A tussling day of Test Match Cricket
Debashis: A huge blow for India! Rohit Sharma has been given out by Michael Gough. Oh, Wait! There's a flat line in the ultra edge and the Indian captain takes a sigh of relief.
Shakir, 4:54 PM: Well we can go on with this debate forever but coming back to the match India looking to play it safely to the end the day without any loss.
DG, 4:50 PM: Obviously, you can't match Kohli's credential with KL Rahul's, but Kohli's game-play has gone down in Test matches, and we need to admit it. KL is nowhere close to Kohli, but for how long will you back a player purely on the basis of what he did 3 years ago? Mark my words, Matt Kuhnemann will get his wicket.
Shakir, 4:48 PM: If you are comparing Kohli's rough patch and KL's rough patch, I don't think you value what Kohli has contributed to Indian cricket. And for that matter can you let me know anything at the level of the GOAT that KL has ever done!?
DG, 4:46 PM: Players should be selected on the basis of merit, and not on the basis of reputation. As you said, there are so many players who have performed in the domestic circuit. So the argument holds true for Kohli as well.
Shakir, 4:44 PM: If a player has a rough patch for a year or so (then also averaging around 35) after playing for more than a decade (13-14 years)....No he doesn't!! But the rough patch can't be this long for a player who is at the phase of his career at which KL is!!
DG, 4:42 PM: What about Kohli? Was he dropped? No, right?
Shakir, 4:37 PM: Yes, they do and they are dropped if someone better is available in the squad. They work hard in the nets, in the domestic fixtures, make some runs and then make a comeback!!
DG, 4:37 PM: Aren't we criticising him a bit too much? Name one player who hasn't gone through a bad patch? I am sure KL Rahul will bounce back.
KL Rahul in the last 8 Test Innings - 10 (45) , 2 (7) 22 (54) , 23 (62) 10 (22) , 12 (35), 50 (133) , 8 (21). Total of 137 runs in 8 innings.
Shakir: The debutant looked good in the first over, he was on target and the one that kept low would have been on the stumps, KL would have been in trouble!
DG: I can see Matt Kuhnemann getting some advice from Pat Cummins. Here is the debutant!
Shakir: Which spinner is going to share the new ball? @Arjun @DG
