One of the best bowlers of the finest quality in world cricket at the moment, Australia's Nathan Lyon has been terrific in the world cricket over the last decade where he has decimated teams with his outstanding turning abilities.

Previously, he has had an outstanding record against India whenever they have met either in Australia or India.

Even in the ongoing series, the off-spinner has wreaked havoc as in the second innings of current Test, he scalped a fifer to give India some serious headache as they are seven down for 179 with big guns Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in the pavilion.

With this achievement, he now has become the third player in cricket history to record a fifer against India in Test cricket. The previous two were England's James Anderson and Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan.

Most Test wickets against India

  • James Anderson: 139 wickets in 35 matches
  • Muttiah Muralitharan: 105 wickets in 22 matches
  • Nathan Lyon: 100* wickets in 24 matches

Moreover, this was Lyon's 22nd 5-wicket haul in Test which he achieved in 117 games, thus taking him to fourth position on the list of Australians with most fifers with Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Dennis Lillee.
