Matt Renshaw replaces David Warner as concussion substitute

After being hit on the head by a Mohammed Siraj bouncer during the first day's play of the 2nd Test between India and Australia currently happening in Delhi, opener David Warner has been ruled out from rest of the game with concussion.

Warner's replacement is deemed to be another left-hander Matthew Renshaw who played in the first Test and could only manage scores of 0 & 2, respectively in the two innings.

Warner could only manage 15 runs where his side were able to score 263 in the first innings after two outstanding innings from Usman Khawaja and Peter Handscomb.

After coping with a blow to his head, some assessments were conducted and it was revealed that he has suffered a concussion. Previously, after the closing of day 1's play, Khawaja mentioned that they will look out for scans so that the entire picture becomes clear regarding his health.

Further, the southpaw didn't field during the nine overs of India's first inning during the closing session of the day's play.

Here's what Khawaja said after the close of play

“I think the medical staff will have to assess tomorrow. He is a little bit weary at the moment. He obviously got a knock to the arm and then to the head and the head has made him a little bit weary at the moment and hence why didn’t come out to field. I think the medical staff will have to figure out what happens from here on in.”

India are currently on the score of 21 without the loss of any wicket after the end of nine overs with skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul still at the crease as the home side trails by 242 runs.
