In a significant setback for Sunrisers Hyderabad, their premier all-rounder Washington Sundar ruled out of the ongoing IPL after sustaining a hamstring injury. Sundar, who initially started his IPL 2023 campaign on a poor note, tasted success with both bat and ball in Hyderabad's last group-stage fixture against Delhi Capitals, scalping three wickets and contributing crucial 24 runs.
However, despite being a talented cricketer, the Tamil Nadu-born is yet to make a mark, with his career marred by frequent injury setbacks. So, considering his injury-proneness, cricket fans on Twitter vented out their frustration as soon as SRH confirmed his unavailability for the remainder of the season.
Some fans addressed Sundar as an important NCA member, while some termed it a homecoming for him to return to NCA for another time.
Meanwhile, some fans stated that Sundar's injury is a blessing in disguise for SRH as he was blowing hot and cold.
