SRH Suffer Massive Setback as Washington Sundar Ruled Out Of IPL 2023 Due To Injury

In an unfortunate turn of events, IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a huge setback, with their premier all-rounder Washington Sundar being ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury. The news was surfaced by SRH's official social media via a tweet, which read,
"INJURY UPDATE. Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury. Speedy recovery, Washi."
Notably, the one-time champions retained Sundar for a whopping INR 8.75 Crores ahead of the IPL mini-auction conducted last year. However the promising all-rounder had an abysmal start to his IPL 2023 campaign, managing only 36 runs with the bat in the first six matches. He was also miserable with the ball, failing to scalp a single wicket in those games.
However, he bounced back remarkably, being a rare positive for SRH in their latest encounter against Delhi Capitals, claiming three crucial wickets and contributing 24 runs. Although his valiant efforts went in vain, Sundar was lauded for regaining his mojo in time.
As of now, the franchise hasn’t named an injury replacement for Sundar. However, considering their scouting, we expect SRH to name an able successor for the player to represent them in the remainder of the tournament.
Speaking of SRH, the Aiden Markram-led side languish at the ninth position in the IPL 2023 points table with only two wins in seven matches. They will take on Delhi Capitals in their eighth group-stage encounter in Delhi on Saturday.
